public soup kitchen serves hot meals in Ukraine amid power outage

Following Russia’s attack on Ukraine’s power plants, the country is going through electricity savings and a 4-hour power outage. Volunteers in Kyiv set up a soup kitchen for Ukrainians who were left without power. Between 800 and 3,000 people visit the soup kitchen, where meals are prepared over a wood fire without the use of electricity. The majority of the volunteers assisting with meal preparation at the soup kitchen are Kyiv residents.
