Putin and Xi Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping reaffirmed their commitment to a strategic partnership during Putin’s first foreign visit after his reelection. At a joint press conference in Beijing, they highlighted their countries’ cooperation on key issues.

Xi emphasized the importance of resolving the Israel-Palestine conflict through a two-state solution, in line with UN resolutions. He also discussed the Ukraine crisis, advocating for a political solution based on UN principles and respect for national sovereignty.

Putin echoed Xi’s sentiments, emphasizing their joint efforts to strengthen commercial ties, particularly in energy cooperation. They highlighted the success of using national currencies in trade transactions, reducing dependence on external influences.

The leaders also discussed expanding industrial cooperation, welcoming Chinese investments in Russia’s automotive, household appliance, metallurgy, and high-tech industries. They signed a joint declaration to deepen their comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation.
