Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Kherson and Luhansk regions that were annexed from Ukraine and received information about the course of the war from the commanders. The Kremlin Press Service said that Putin presented gifts to the commanders at the front because of Easter.
Following the unofficial referendum held on September 23–27 in Donetsk and Luhansk, as well as in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson, where the Russian army took control, the regions were annexed by Russia.
