Putin Suggests Interim Administration Be Established in Ukraine

At a meeting with a submarine crew in the port of Murmansk, Russian President Vladimir Putin proposed the establishment of an interim administration in Ukraine under the auspices of the United Nations USA, European countries and our partners in order to hold democratic elections so that a new competent government that could gain the trust of Ukrainians comes to power and that peace agreement negotiations between the two parties could then begin.

The Russian leader also touched upon US President Donald Trump’s efforts to continue direct talks with Russia by saying, “I think the newly elected US president sincerely wants the conflict to end for a number of reasons.”

No statement has yet been made by Ukraine on the subject.
