“I am calling out to the people of Russia, its soldiers, security forces, and those who have been pushed to the path of armed rebellion by lies and threats. I will do everything to protect the constitutional order and the lives and freedoms of citizens. Those who pull guns on their citizens have betrayed Russia and they will pay for it. Today we are ready in every way to protect our state. What is happening today is pure treason. We are now against people who think of their own interests. Wagner forces were also sacrificing their lives for Russia. But now there are traitors among them. Traitors will be severely punished. Let these criminals know that our response will be harsh,” said Putin.
