Thirty-nine visually impaired people celebrated the October 15 White Cane Safety Day by rafting in the Köprülü Canyon in Antalya, Turkey within an event of the Association for the Protection of the Blind. Aside from rafting, the participants chatted and had fun throughout the event.
“By organizing various awareness activities, we tried to convey to the society that all disabled people, especially visually impaired people, can be successful in many fields, just like people without disabilities.” said Veli Özağan, Branch Manager of the association, adding that more events will be organized in the next years.
