With Ramadan Bayram approaching, shopping in Istanbul’s Eminönü has surged, especially for holiday treats like candy, chocolate, and Turkish delight.
Shopkeepers expressed satisfaction with the growing demand, noting an increase in sales over the past few days. “Last year, candy and chocolate were 280 TL; this year, we are selling them for 250 TL,” said vendor Muhittin Tan.
Shoppers cited Eminönü’s affordability and festive atmosphere as key reasons for visiting. “It’s a Ramadan tradition. We buy treats to offer guests and children,” said a shopper named İbrahim Yazgan.
