Rapid Reforestation Displayed on Türkiye Wildfire Anniversary

Antalya Governor Hulusi Şahin visited Manavgat on the third anniversary of the largest forest fire in Türkiye’s history. He highlighted the successful reforestation efforts, stating, “We planted 5.1 million saplings across 30,000 hectares, and nature has added perhaps twice as much. Thanks to Antalya’s favorable climate, the entire 60,000 hectares have turned green again. There are few reminders of those dark days left in nature.”

An information and inspection program was held in Manavgat to commemorate the fire that started on July 28, 2021, and burned for ten days, destroying 60,000 hectares. Governor Şahin and Regional Director of Forestry Zafer İnce reviewed the reforestation and naturally regrown areas, emphasizing the rapid recovery of the region.
