Rare 60-Meter Tornado Forms Over China’s Xijiang River

A giant 60-meter-long tornado formed over the Xijiang River in the city of Yunfu, located in southern China’s Guangdong province. The Yunfu Meteorological Bureau described the towering weather phenomenon as a “rare event” for the region. The massive vortex churned directly over the water for approximately seven minutes before finally dissipating. Fortunately, local emergency management officials confirmed that the brief tornado caused no injuries or material damage.
