Rare white dolphins, which are native to mainland China, were spotted off the beaches of Xiamen. Some residents living by the shores can see dolphins even from their balconies.
In China, the endangered species known as the “giant panda of the sea” is under protection. They typically live in shallow waters less than 10 meters deep.
