Record Number of People Protested Against Government in Israel

Around 120,000 Israelis staged the largest anti-government protest in Tel Aviv, the capital of Israel, since October 7, when Israel began its attacks on Gaza. Shouting anti-government slogans, the crowd called for an agreement to release the hostages and the dismissal of Benjamin Netanyahu. Meanwhile, a fire was set in Democracy Square, which triggered the Tel Aviv police’s intervention. One Deputy Chief of Police and 13 police officers were injured, and demonstrators were detained in the turmoil.
