Reptile rescue teams found 102 venomous snakes in the haystacks stored in the backyard of a resident who reported to have seen several snakes around, one of which bit their dog, in Sydney, Australia.
The teams said that 97 of the snakes were newborns and 4 snakes gave birth in the bucket they were put in.
Cory Kerewaro, the owner of the reptile rescue agency, stated that all the snakes were collected in 3 hours and that their teams normally catch only 5 to 15 reptiles a day.
There have been no deaths to date due to bites from the red-bellied black snakes, which are common in Australia.
