Heavy rainfall caused flash floods and landslides on the Italian island of Ischia, in the north of the Gulf of Naples. According to local sources, 7 people, including a baby and children, were killed in the floods and landslides, and 5 others have gone missing. More than 200 people were evacuated, and 30 houses were flooded, local authorities said. Search and rescue efforts are ongoing in the flood-affected areas.
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni declared a state of emergency and announced financial aid worth €2 million to cover the damages.
