Rescued Fallow Deers Sent to Support Anatolian Population

The fallow deer of 4, discovered during a truck inspection at a checkpoint in Hakkari, were rescued and entrusted to the care of the 14th Regional Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks (DKMP) in Türkiye. After receiving a month of meticulous care at the Van Wild Animals Protection and Rehabilitation Center, these deer, originally native to Anatolia, were sent to the Çorum deer production center to aid the local population.

Professor Lokman Aslan, the Center Director, highlighted their commitment to preserving wildlife in the Van Lake Basin. He mentioned that upon arrival, the fallow deer were fatigued, requiring treatment and careful attention. Despite initial challenges, their recovery was successful. Aslan emphasized Anatolia as the natural habitat for these deer and expressed gratitude to the DKMP 14th Regional Directorate and the gendarmerie for their efforts in safeguarding the fallow deer, ensuring their return to the mountains and preventing their extinction.
