Reuters Safety Adviser Killed in Ukraine Missile Attack

Ryan Evans, a safety adviser for Reuters, was killed in a missile attack on a hotel in Kramatorsk, Ukraine, where he was staying while covering the war. The UK-based news agency reported that the attack also injured two other journalists from the six-member team, with one in serious condition. Evans, a 38-year-old British citizen and former soldier, had been with Reuters since 2022. Ukrainian authorities retrieved his body from the rubble 19 hours after the attack. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the incident as “Russian terror,” though Russia has not issued an official statement.
