At Least 24 prisoners were killed and another 48 have been wounded after a riot broke out in the Deprivation of Liberty Center Regional Guayas in southwestern Ecuador. According to prison officials, the riot occurred due to a confrontation between gangs that dispute control of the penitentiary center. The order was restored after many police and soldiers were dispatched to the prison.
