Russia held a large-scale nuclear weapons drill involving land, sea, and air forces under President Vladimir Putin’s command, the Kremlin announced. The exercise included the launch of Yars intercontinental and Sineva submarine-launched ballistic missiles, as well as Tu-95MS bombers.
The drill took place as uncertainty surrounds a potential meeting between Putin and US President Donald Trump. While Hungary confirmed preparations for a summit in Budapest, Trump said he would avoid a “pointless meeting” unless progress was likely.
