Russia Faces Severe Flooding

In Russia, flood disaster strikes as river water levels surge. The Tobol River in the Kurgan region has surpassed the “dangerous level” mark, prompting evacuations and rescue operations. The water level rose by 1.23 meters in 24 hours, reaching 8.65 meters and flooding over 660 houses. Evacuation sirens sound regularly, and emergency teams are distributing aid via boats. The Ishim River in the Tyumen region also surged, leading to evacuations in 14 settlements. Orenburg faces massive flooding, with over 14 thousand houses affected, as authorities warn of rising water levels across Ural and Siberia, including neighboring Kazakhstan.
