Russia hits Ukraine with cruise missiles

Russia increased its missile attacks on Ukraine as part of its ongoing offensive against the country. Russia announced that military facilities in Ukraine had been hit with cruise missiles launched from the sea. According to a statement released by the Russian Ministry of Defense, the ship fired high-precision “Kalibr” missiles at Ukraine’s military infrastructure.

The Kalibr high-precision cruise missiles used by Russia have a range of 2,500 kilometers. Missiles fired at land targets from warships and submarines reach the target by cruising 50 kilometers above the ground. Russia first used Kalibr missiles in Syria in 2015.
