Russia Hits Ukraine’s Energy Grid With Drone Strikes

Russian drone strikes overnight damaged energy and natural gas infrastructure in Ukraine’s Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, and Donetsk regions. The Ukrainian Energy Ministry said Poltava’s gas system and Sumy’s transformer substation were heavily hit, leaving much of Sumy without power.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said over 100,000 people lost electricity, while the Air Force reported shooting down 74 of 95 drones launched. The remaining 21 struck nine sites nationwide.
