Russian forces attacked many energy facilities across Ukraine yesterday, completely destroying Trypilska thermal power plant, the largest power plant in the capital Kyiv, with missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. Transformer centers and electricity generation facilities were damaged in the attacks on Odesa, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia, Lviv and Kiev regions, said the electricity network operator Ukrenergo.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the attacks were a response to the UAV attacks carried out by Ukraine against oil, gas, and energy facilities in Russia.
