Russia, North Korea Begin Bridge Project over Tumen River

Russia and North Korea have started building a highway bridge over the Tumen River to boost trade and regional ties.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin called the project a symbol of growing strategic cooperation. The 850-meter bridge, set for completion by summer 2026, aims to cut transport costs and strengthen economic links. It follows an agreement reached during President Putin’s 2024 visit to Pyongyang.
