Russia Retakes Most of Kursk

The Russian Defense Ministry reported yesterday that despite reinforcements, Russian Ukraine in the Kursk region suffered significant losses and retreated from the occupied areas.

“Of the 1,268 square kilometers of land occupied by the enemy in the Kursk region, 63.2 percent (801 square kilometers) were liberated. During operations in the first two weeks of January, units of the Northern Military Group liberated four settlements (Alexandria, Leonidovo, Russkoye Porechnoye and Kruglenkoye),” stated the ministry.

It was also noted that Ukraine has lost more than 52,450 soldiers, 304 tanks, 231 infantry fighting vehicles, 173 armored personnel carriers and 1,562 armored fighting vehicles in Kursk since August 6, when it launched its offensive.
