Russia Says ATACMS Missiles Targeting Voronezh Intercepted

Russia’s Defense Ministry said Ukrainian forces fired four U.S.-made ATACMS missiles at the city of Voronezh, all of which were intercepted by S-400 and Pantsir air defenses. Missile fragments damaged a geriatric center, an orphanage, and a house, but no casualties were reported.

Russia said it then located the ATACMS launch systems in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region and struck two U.S.-made MLRS launchers along with ammunition and several soldiers. Ukraine received ATACMS systems from the U.S. in 2023
