Russia says NATO troops exceeded 30,000 in Central, Eastern Europe

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu held a meeting with the military members of Belarus via videoconference. Claiming that Ukraine uses prohibited tactics by using civilians during the conflict, Minister Shoigu said, “The Kyiv regime uses prohibited methods, including terrorist attacks, assassinations, bombarding civilians with heavy weapons and using them as human shields. However, Western countries ignore this. “They come and encourage the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine,” he said.

Shoigu stated that since February, the number of NATO military forces has increased by 2.5 times in Central and Eastern Europe, exceeding 30,000.
