Russia and Belarus are preparing for a joint military exercise. In the statement released by Russian Ministry of Defence, it’s been reported that 2 divisions of S-400 Triumph anti-aircraft missile systems (SAMS) from air force and air defence formation of the Eastern Military District, loaded onto trains to be send to Belarus. “Upon arrival at the places where training tasks are performed, Russian servicemen will carry out equipment and camouflage of launch positions, maintenance of equipment and take up training combat duty on air defence as part of the unified regional air defence system of Belarus and Russia,” Ministry said regarding the S-400 SAMS. Upon arrival of the S-400 air defense systems to Belarusian territory, they will be deployed on the polygons and made ready for military exercises. Russia is deploying 12 Su-35 fighter jets, 2 divisions of S-400 SAMS and Pantsir-S short-range missile system to Belarus for the exercises, which consist of 2 stages and will end on February 20.
