Russia Strikes Kyiv as US Resumes Arms Shipments to Ukraine

Two people were killed and 16 injured in a Russian missile and drone attack on Kyiv, Ukraine’s capital. Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported widespread damage to homes, offices, and a clinic. President Zelensky said Russia used 18 missiles and 400 drones, including 200 Iranian-made Shahed UAVs, calling the assault a clear sign of “escalating terrorism.”

Following the attack, US officials confirmed the resumption of arms shipments to Ukraine, including mobile rocket systems and artillery. President Trump stated, “Ukraine must be able to defend itself,” and noted the US may send Patriot air defense systems. Russia’s latest barrage follows a record attack the previous day involving 539 drones and 11 missiles.
