Russian Emergencies Minister Yevgeny Zinichev has died on duty while saving a person’s life, the ministry announced on Wednesday. The tragedy happened during search and rescue exercise in north Russia’s Norilsk to protect the Arctic zone from emergencies. According to Russian media, a person standing by the shore fell into the water during the exercise, where the Minister Zinichev crashed into the rock while jumping into the water to save the person, and died while being taken to the hospital by helicopter.
