Russian Strikes on Kyiv Leave 10 Dead

A large-scale Russian drone and missile attack on the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv has left at least 10 people dead and 56 injured, including two children. The nighttime bombardment caused widespread fires and partially collapsed a 10-story apartment building, prompting Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to cut short a diplomatic visit to Ireland. Condemning the widespread destruction across the capital, Kyiv Military Administration head Tymur Tkachenko stated, “The enemy has once again deliberately targeted civilian settlements and massacred civilians.” In response, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed the barrage on military and energy facilities was direct retaliation for recent Ukrainian strikes on Russian infrastructure. Search and rescue operations remain underway as emergency crews frantically scour the rubble for survivors.
