Russia’s First Humanoid Robot Falls During Launch Event

Russia introduced its first AI-powered humanoid robot, AIdol, at a technology event in Moscow, but the 95-kilogram robot fell seconds after stepping on stage. Engineers said the fall was caused by calibration and lighting issues, noting the robot is still in testing.

Idol Robotics CEO Vladimir Vitukhin said the incident would serve as “a learning experience.” Developers say AIdol can walk, move objects, and interact with people for up to six hours, and features realistic facial expressions capable of showing 12 emotions. Potential uses include manufacturing, logistics, and public spaces such as airports and banks.
