Russia’s Luna-25 Aims for Moon Landing after 47 Years

Russia’s Luna-25 spacecraft, its first Moon mission in 47 years, was successfully launched from the Vostochny Space Base. Expected to land on August 21, the spacecraft aims to explore the Moon’s south pole and search for water sources. This follows the historic achievements of the US and Soviet lunar missions, and precedes India’s Chandrayaan-3 lunar landing expected on August 23.
