Muğla’s Fethiye district is taking steps to ensure the safety of visitors to the popular Butterfly Valley, located in western Türkiye. Each year, thousands of citizens climb the steep cliffs in Faralya District to capture photos of the stunning view, often resulting in injuries and fatal accidents.
To address this, Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ahmet Aras has announced plans to construct a safe observation deck. “We are taking action to ensure that the magnificent view of Butterfly Valley can be watched safely,” Aras stated on social media. “In order to prevent the sad accidents that occur every year, I have given the necessary instructions to build a safe observation deck in the area where the cliffs are located. We will offer a more enjoyable visit for everyone by protecting nature and prioritizing safety.”
