In Brazil, the dust cloud caused by the sandstorm that was effective in the cities of Presidente Prudente, Franca, Jales, Arabaatuba, Barretos in the state of Sao Paulo on Sunday and in some parts of the state of Minas Gerais turned the streets into darkness. Experts reported that the sandstorm was caused by the long-lasting drought and strong winds in the region. The cold air wave, which is expected to be effective in the southern parts of Brazil in early October, will increase the risk of sandstorms.
