Sarajevo celebrates anniversary of liberation from Nazi occupation

Sarajevo City Day is celebrated in the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the anniversary of the liberation of the city from Nazi occupation on April 6, 1945. Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidential Council members Denis Becirovic and Zeljko Komsic laid wreaths at the Eternal Flame Monument in the city center.

Additionally, the date of April 6 has a symbolic significance as it was the beginning of the siege of Sarajevo in 1992.
