The 22nd meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Presidents’ Council convened in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, under the leadership of Kyrgyzstan’s Council of Ministers Chairman, Aqylbek Japarov. The gathering included high-level representatives from SCO member countries, with discussions centering on the SCO’s role as a unique international union for cooperation across security, trade, economics, culture, and humanitarian domains. Japarov emphasized the organization’s importance and called for the development of a cooperation roadmap with SCO’s dialogue partners. Additionally, he underscored the need for enhanced regional security and expressed hopes for the establishment of a center to combat international organized crime in Bishkek. Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and delegations from other countries also participated in the meeting.
