scrapped planes at Istanbul’s Atatürk airport sold

In Istanbul, Türkiye, the abandoned planes on the apron of Atatürk airport are being sold. With the opening of the new Istanbul Airport, some end-of-life planes were left seized and scrapped are finding new owners. A tender for the unclaimed planes was made by the General Directorate Civil Aviation. With the tender, 7 of the 12 abandoned planes were sold. The wing and fuselage of the sold planes were dismantled and taken from the airport for transportation. Some of the planes will be reportedly converted into restaurants and cafes.

The remaining planes that are waiting to be sold were viewed with a drone.
