The SDF, the Syrian branch of the PKK/YPG terrorist organization, has officially dissolved and fully integrated into Syrian state institutions. During a press conference in Damascus, SDF leader Mazlum Abdi announced the end of the group’s independent military operations following a milestone agreement with President Ahmed al-Shara. Calling the move a historic turning point, Abdi declared that Syria is transitioning “from battlefields to construction sites, from the era of weapons to the era of peace.” The integration agreement also guarantees Kurdish mother-tongue education this year, which Abdi noted will help build a “unified Syria that embraces all its people.”
