Search and rescue operations for 31 sailors who have gone missing after the Thai naval military ship HTMS Sutkhothai sank in the Gulf of Thailand yesterday continue from sea, air, and land. Sukhothai Naval Base and hospitals in the region continue to treat injured soldiers rescued from the sinking ship, authorities said. A Thai navy military plane flew the seriously injured soldiers to Chonburi province.
Making a statement on the rescue efforts on behalf of the Thai navy, Pokkrong Monthatfalin stated that the search and rescue efforts were narrowed to an area of 33 kilometers and the operation was carried out in an organized manner from sea, land and air in partnership with the Thai Air Force. Monthatfalin did not provide information on the number of soldiers rescued so far.
