Second Crane Collapse Kills Two In Thailand

A crane collapsed onto vehicles at a highway construction site in Samut Sakhon province, west of Bangkok, Thailand, killing two people and injuring five others. The victims were trapped under the crane and construction columns, while the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.

The accident came a day after a similar crane collapse in northeastern Thailand killed 32 people during high-speed rail construction. Thai Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said allegations of negligence would be investigated and ordered a detailed probe into both incidents. Authorities closed the highway as investigations continued at the scene.
