A demonstration was held in Serbia against EuroPride, an event dedicated to LGBT people every year across European cities. The event was scheduled to be held in Belgrade from 12-18 September 2022, causing a backlash in the country. Thousands of religious people attended the protest that was led by clergy, where they said the planned LGBT event threatened traditional family values.
President Aleksandar Vucic stated earlier that the march would be cancelled or postponed, citing threats from the right-wing and unrest.
