A fire broke out at a primary school in the town of Nyeri, Kenya last night, causing the deaths of 17 students and injuring others. Police stated that the death toll could rise.
Kenyan President William Ruto ordered an investigation into the incident and said on social media, “Those responsible for the incident will be punished.”
In another incident in 2017, 10 students were killed when a school in the capital Nairobi was set on fire.
