Severe Floods Hit Southern Kyrgyzstan

Torrential rains have triggered widespread flooding across southern Kyrgyzstan, severely disrupting daily life in the Batken, Osh, and Jalal-Abad regions. Floodwaters have inundated dozens of homes, gardens, and social facilities, prompting local authorities to declare a state of emergency in the hardest-hit districts. In response, hundreds of emergency personnel and civil defense teams have been deployed to lead cleanup operations and assist the nearly 150 evacuated residents. Fortunately, officials report zero casualties or injuries, and ongoing sanitation sweeps have found no signs of waterborne infections in the aftermath.
