Despite a recent ceasefire agreement, vulnerable populations are struggling with a severe humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, Palestine. The United Nations reports that approximately 77 percent of the population is currently suffering from malnutrition due to restricted border crossings and skyrocketing food costs. Dr. Ahed Al-Hilu, a local pediatrician, warned that medical teams are treating a rise in dangerous and potentially fatal symptoms, emphasizing that “Malnutrition should not be taken lightly.” Local mothers are increasingly unable to support their infants’ health, with one parent stating, “We cannot afford basic necessities or proper nutrition due to high prices.”
