A severe storm hit the Breuil-Cervinia Ski Resort in the Valle d’Aosta region of Italy on Thursday. Reaching a speed of 100 kilometers per hour, the powerful winds blew away the benches of the ski resort’s chairlift while some skiers were on them. The facility administration stated the skiers were rescued a short time later and no injuries occurred. It was noted that the chairlift was shut down and that the stranded skiers were the last skiers to go to the upper station.
