Severe Winds Disrupt Life in Southern Argentina

Winds exceeding 140 km/h caused major disruption across Argentina’s Patagonia region, forcing the closure of schools, malls, banks, and shops in Chubut and Santa Cruz provinces. Comodoro Rivadavia also saw power outages and reduced hospital staffing, with authorities urging residents to stay indoors.

Argentina’s meteorological service issued red, orange, and yellow alerts, while flights from Buenos Aires to Patagonia were delayed due to the storm.
