Singapore Court Finds Opposition Leader Guilty of Lying

A Singapore court has found opposition leader Pritam Singh guilty of making false statements to a parliamentary committee. The Labor Party leader was convicted on two counts related to an investigation into former MP Raeesah Khan.

Singh faces up to three years in prison and fines that could disqualify him from this year’s general election. The case stems from Khan’s 2021 false allegations against police, which she later admitted were untrue. Singh had claimed he was unaware of her deception, but the court ruled otherwise. His sentence has yet to be determined.
