Sixteen Killed in Indonesia Highway Crash

At least 16 people were killed and four injured when a passenger bus and a fuel tanker collided head-on along Indonesia’s Trans-Sumatra Highway. Authorities state the midday crash occurred because the tanker was traveling in the wrong direction, instantly triggering a massive blaze. The resulting fire quickly engulfed both vehicles, trapping many of the 20 bus passengers inside. This fatal incident comes just a week after a separate train collision in the country left 16 dead and dozens more injured.
