To battle with the delay in the starting of consistent snowfall, which is a result of temperatures being above seasonal norms, ski track operators in Uludağ, one of the most important mountains for winter tourism in Türkiye, began covering their tracks with artificial snow.
“Uludağ, the most important winter tourism center of our country, has not received snowfall due to the recent change in the season. For this reason, the opening of the season is being postponed to a later date each year. We need to protect the appeal of Uludağ, one of the most important brands in the country in terms of local and foreign tourists. As businesses at the top, we have also found a solution in artificial snow. Since snowfall does not occur or is not permanent despite the temperatures dropping below zero at night at the top, businesses are covering the tracks with artificial snow. We are doing our part in order to prevent negative effects on new season preparations and to be ready for the season. We hope to have a full season with heavy snowfall this year,” said İbrahim Garip, a tourism operator.
