skiing robot unveiled in china

A six-legged skiing robot has been unveiled on the slopes of Shenyang, the capital of Liaoning Province in northeast China. The robotic skier, produced by Shanghai Jiao Tong University researchers, is shaped like a “smart dog,” with four legs fixed to the body for balance and the remaining two equipped with ski poles. The robot can easily adapt to real-world skiing situations. In fast skiing, it can avoid obstacles, analyze routes, make nimble turns, and brake cleanly. In an icy and snowy environment, the robot will perform routine tasks such as patrol and rescue.
