Small Plane Crashes in US, Killing 2 Onboard

A Douglas DC-4 Skymaster military transport plane crashed on the banks of the Tanana River in Alaska shortly after departing Fairbanks International Airport. The crash, which occurred at 09:55 local time with two pilots aboard, resulted in a fire that prompted a response from police and fire crews. Tragically, there were no survivors according to Alaska State Police. The cause of the crash, involving a rare WWII-era aircraft operated by Alaska Air Fuel, remains under investigation.
